Over the years, the PGA Tour has had its fair share of great players. But these 10 have won the title of fame. These are players that everyone knows, no matter how much they know about golf.

It’s not fair to compare Old Tom to Jack Nicklaus or even Tiger Woods. Golf isn’t the same as it was when it was first developed, and it’s impossible to compare different times in any sport.

The following list was made up of a number of different items. Some of the things that are used to rank these guys are their PGA Tour wins, big championships, and Ryder Cup results. Historical events and how they’ve changed golf in other ways are also factors.

These 10 guys are without a doubt the best of all time.

Despite that, it’s still hard to make this list.

So, here are some of the people we also wanted to mention: He was backed by Walter Hagen, Lee Trevino, Gene Sarazen, Tom Watson, Byron Nelson, and Ernie Els. These men should be on the list of all-time greats, but they didn’t make it.

10. Nick Faldo

It was Sir Nick Faldo who just made the cut. He was the best golfer in the world in the 1990s. Golf Channel says that Faldo was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2009 for his services to golf.

There were three Masters and three Opens that he won. Faldo was on five European Ryder Cup teams that won. He will always be remembered as one of the best golfers in the world because of those Ryder Cup wins.

9. This is Seve Ballesteros

One of the most likeable people in the sport was Seve Ballesteros, who played for his country. He won 65 times around the world and five majors, including three Open Championships. One of the things that makes Ballesteros so great is that he could get out of any lie or state.

He made the Ryder Cup a much-known event. Ballesteros led his team to win in the European Ryder Cup in 1997 in his home country of Spain.

Gary Player is one of the best golfers of all time and a big star around the world. He made it possible for more foreign golfers to play on the PGA Tour. Player has won 150 times around the world, including 24 times on the PGA Tour and nine majors. His record of four major wins makes him one of only five players to have done so.

7. Michael Chang

Phil Mickelson, who is also known as “Lefty,” is number seven on this list. By a long shot, he was the oldest player to win a major in 2021. He won the PGA Championship when he was 51 years old.

Mickelson has won 45 times on the PGA Tour, including that win, which gave him six majors. Lefty has played in 47 matches and 12 Ryder Cups, which is a record.

He might not be on this list without his amazing win at the PGA Championship.

6. Mr. Bobby Jones

In the early days, Bobby Jones won 13 major titles and was like Nicklaus. No one else won all four majors in 1930, making him the only player to do so. Back then, two of the four majors were the U.S. Amateur and the British Amateur.

Still, it’s amazing to have won 13 of those titles in the eight years from 1923 to 1930.

But he made the Masters Tournament possible with Clifford Roberts and Augusta National Golf Club possible with Alister MacKenzie. Those were his biggest contributions to the game.

5. The famous Arnold Palmer

Arnold Palmer is ranked No. 5 because he was so good on the course and also because he helped make the prizes bigger for players.

Arnold Palmer was a fan favorite, and people still like him today. He won seven big ones. He won four Masters titles at Augusta, which was where he did best. His comeback win at the 1960 U.S. Open, on the other hand, will be remembered as one of his best achievements. That week, he beat Hogan and Nicklaus.

4. Snead Sam

Tiger Woods and Sam Snead both have 82 PGA Tour wins, which is the same number. Besides that, he has won seven big titles.

Nicklaus was a force to be reckoned with on the golf course because he was so consistent and strong. He was so powerful when he was at his best. Seve Ballesteros, Greg Norman, and many other golfers lost to him before he won his last green jacket in 1986, when he was 46 years old.

The most important thing that Tiger Woods did to change golf is make it what it is today. Because he was African American, he did a lot to help other blacks get into a sport that was mostly played by white men.

He’s also one of the main reasons why golf equipment began to change.

His appearance brought in so much money from TV ads that competition prizes quickly reached all-time highs. People all over the world can now make a living playing their favorite sport, golf, even if they don’t win.

Tiger and Snead both have 82 PGA Tour wins, which is the most of any player in history. He has 108 wins all over the world. Five of Woods’s 15 major titles are Masters titles, and he won his most recent one in 2019.

Besides that, he has won 18 World Golf Championships. Woods has played in nine Presidents Cups and eight Ryder Cups. He was also captain when the United States won the 2019 Presidents Cup. It’s easy to make the case for Woods, even though the list could go on for a long time.
