It’s once again Masters week, and the first of golf’s four majors looks like it will be another great event.
This year’s winner, Scottie Scheffler, will try to become the fourth player after Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods to win the Masters in back-to-back years. Rory McIlroy will try to win his first major title in 11 years and finish a career grand slam with his first green jacket.
He won the Players Championship last month. They will also be put to the test by Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and other top LIV Golf players who play around the world and aren’t on the PGA Tour.
With so many of the best golfers playing on both big tours these days, the majors are more important than ever. The tournament starts on Thursday with the first round and ends on Sunday. However, experts are already making picks and predictions for this year’s event.

Predictions for Masters 2025
Mark Giannotto with Collin Morikawa for USA TODAY

— Golf Digest (@GolfDigest) April 19, 2023
“Morikawa is currently tied for second place with McIlroy in strokes gained from the tee to the green in 2025. Some people may not have heard about it because Morikawa hasn’t won in more than 18 months and missed his chance to win this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. But he has three top-10 scores in five starts this season and has already won the PGA Championship and the British Open. He might be ready to show what he can do at The Masters.
Xander “Schauffele” on the DraftKings Network
A new name has been added to the Claret Jug 🏆
— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) July 21, 2024
What a moment for @XSchauffele!pic.twitter.com/xuem39TD3B
He got off to a slow start this season because of a rib injury. He looked rusty in his first two starts, but he came alive at the Valspar Championship… a mind-boggling 11.2 strokes on approach at the Copperhead Course. This was Schauffele’s best score ever… Schauffele, who is 31 years old, is known for playing his best golf at major events, and this number makes him a very interesting early bet.
Ludvig Aberg at BetMGM
Impressive birdie by Ludvig Aberg (+1600) 👏pic.twitter.com/P49VJQhqZo
— ESPN BET (@ESPNBET) April 10, 2025
Aberg came very close to winning his first Masters tournament last April, but had to settle for a runner-up finish instead.” Aberg was sick from late January to early February, but his win at the Genesis should give people who are thinking about riding him at the Masters hope. Aberg added 10 strokes from the tee to the green that week, which was the third-best performance of his career.
Sleeper picks for The Masters 2025
Patrick McDonald tells CBS Sports’ Sepp Straka to call 911
So far in 2025, Straka is in the top 10 in the world for driver accuracy and iron play.” This is how he finished in the top sixteen at the Masters last year: sixth in driving accuracy, fifth in greens in regulation, and eighth in strokes won from the tee to the green. Straka’s chances of winning a major title should get better now that the greens are in better shape. He has done well in recent years.
Russell Henley (+5000) on the DraftKings Network
These odds are way too long for Henley.” It’s been a great season for the 35-year-old player, who has finished in the top 10 four times in just seven games. Henley just won his fifth PGA TOUR event at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last month. This was a Signature Event with all of the best players on the PGA TOUR. Henley has always been one of the best irons players on the PGA TOUR. But this season, he has also been one of the best putters, which has helped him play the best golf of his career.
Chances.com: Corey Conners (+6600)
There may not be a hotter player on the PGA Tour these days than Canadian Corey Conners, who posted three-straight top-eight finishes (before this weekend).
