Even though the Saudi Pro League is getting a lot of bad press, Cristiano Ronaldo could continue his deal with Al-Nassr until June 2027.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January after leaving Manchester United. He has made it possible for many other players to move to Saudi Arabia, such as Neymar, Sadio Mane, and Karim Benzema. Saudi Arabia’s national wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is putting a lot of money into football and wants to host the 2034 men’s World Cup.

However, it is said that some players are now sorry they moved to Saudi Arabia. The league is having trouble getting big groups. For example, last month’s game between Abha and Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq had less than 1,000 people.

But it looks like Ronaldo is fully committed to his deal with Al-Nassr. In Saudi Arabia, there are rumours that the 38-year-old is thinking about extending his current deal, which ends in 2025. He’s said before that he might play until 2027, which is when he’ll be 42 years old.

It is thought that Ronaldo wants to play in the 2026 men’s World Cup, which will be held in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The leader of Portugal hasn’t quit playing football for his country, and he’s said in the past that he wants to keep playing for a while longer.

At the core, Ronaldo told ESPN Brazil in January 2022, “I feel like I’m 30 years old.” “I take good care of my mind and body.” I just learned that after 33, I think the body can give if you need it, but the real fight is in your mind.

He also said, “I want to know if I’ll play until I’m 40, 41, or 42.” My daily goal is to enjoy the present, though.

In a chat with the Saudi Pro League’s media team, Ronaldo also said again that he was committed to Al-Nassr. “The league is very good,” he said in the summer. But I believe we still have a huge number of chances to grow. There is competition in the game.

“We have great teams with great Arab players…” I’m happy here, I want to stay here, and I will stay here. And I think the Saudi league can be one of the top five leagues if they keep doing the work they want to do here for the next five years.

It’s good for Saudi Arabia that Ronaldo supports the country after The Sun said other famous people hate every minute of their time there. Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum, two stars for Liverpool, play for Al-Ettifaq. They often play in front of small numbers; their most recent home game against Al-Fateh had fewer than 10,000 fans.
