After coming in eighth place in the PGA Championship, Jon Rahm lost almost $1 million.

It took the American Scottie Scheffler most of the day to beat Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau and win the event, while the Spaniard was chasing Scheffler for the lead. Scheffler’s performance was also depressing for Harris English, who left the course quickly because he knew the star was going to win.

When Rahm fell during the PGA Championship, it hurt him as a golfer and cost him money at the end of the tournament. He would have won $1,418,666.67 if he had stayed in second place throughout the event. Scheffler, on the other hand, won $3.42 million.

Rahm will instead get $454,781.11. The money he won is a small part of what he would have gotten for coming in second place. This is how much he gets paid, the same as Denny McCarthy, Ryan Gerard, Joe Highsmith, Matt Fitzpatrick, Keegan Bradley, and Si Woo Kim.

Rahm will feel bad about losing, but people have said in the past that it won’t be the end of the world. The LIV Golf star told his wife Kelley after they got married in 2018 that he wants to keep winning on the links, but he also thinks there are more important things in life.

I’m much more interested in raising a family and being a good husband and father than I am in golf,” he told Golf Digest in 2019, so his wife and kids knew what he meant. “Don’t get me wrong. I want to be the best player I can be.

“If someone put a gun to my head and told me I could only have one, I wouldn’t pick golf… “Family is always my first choice.”

Rahm shot down any idea that his level of play had anything to do with the fact that he left the PGA Tour for the Saudi Arabian-backed circuit when he talked about how he played before the final round at Quail Hollow.

The Spaniard made it clear: “Going to LIV and playing worse in majors had nothing to do with where I was playing golf.” “I just wasn’t quite good enough with my swing to compete.”

It’s easier to get a good score on courses and venues that aren’t major championships. I think those flaws will show up when you get to the big stages like this one and these courses, and they did.”

There were weeks when I played better, like at The Open last year.” The Masters didn’t get off to a good start, but it got better over the course of the week. I’m still working on my swing to make it better.

I did win the Masters in 2023, but I didn’t play well at all until the Ryder Cup, right? I believe the issues started earlier than people think. But I’m getting closer to a place where I can be comfortable. I believe this week and this round have shown it.”
