The weather in Charlotte needs to get better as soon as possible, Amanda Balionis begged. The PGA Championship starts on Thursday. It comes after video of her talking about her favorite player came back to light.
Monday, it rained so hard that some parts of the course were flooded, and planes coming in were delayed. Even though it was the first day of practice, officials turned away fans because of the threat of flash floods.
They could have asked for a return or used their tickets on Tuesday or Wednesday instead. There is, however, an 88% chance that it will rain on both of those days. Things will calm down on Thursday, but there is a 40% chance of rain again on Saturday. There will be no rain on Sunday.
There was a good chance that the game would be very wet, and Balionis’s Instagram video showed that. In it, Hideki Matsuyama was putting on a totally wet green while someone on his team held an umbrella.
The CBS host said, “Someone fix Charlotte before Thursday tysm (thank you so much)!” next to the video. While other big names played golf in Myrtle Beach, the Japanese player was at the Truist Championship.
Scottie Scheffler didn’t play in either event, but he did get to practice the course on Sunday, which was a nice bonus. Many LIV Golf stars, on the other hand, may not have had a chance to practice since their last event two weekends ago.

Last year’s winner, Xander Schauffele, showed off his Champions Dinner plate when he wasn’t on the course. Pickled watermelon, clams casino shooters, smoked goat cheese dates, and steak and bleu cheese crostini are just a few of the starters that people can enjoy.
A wagyu New York strip was chosen by Schauffele because he wants even more steak. There will be giant shrimp, creamy whipped sweet potatoes, and a bourbon bone marrow reduction to go with this.
The American has chosen a strawberry scone and a banana split for dessert. He wrote on his menu, “I didn’t go do anything unique.” It was kind of in the middle, with both steak and fish options. I wanted everyone to be pleased or have the choice of what to eat.
The last thing Balionis did was speak at the Truist Championship, which is how she comes into the major. She wrote sad letters to both the winner, Sepp Straka, and the runner-up, Shane Lowry.
A tremendous week on a great course resulting in a great final round and champion for the @truistchampionship,” she wrote.
I loved how honest @seppstraka was about how he dealt with the nerves that made him lose feeling in his arms and legs all day. Winning on the PGA TOUR is hard. Everyone was moved by his message to his mom and wife, which made us all think about what it takes to get here and what it means to make it.
“Congratulations to @shanelowrygolf on a tough week. There’s been this guy at the door all season. Today he told us it’s tough to win here and that all he can do is knock on that door over and over again until it opens. That didn’t happen this week, but it doesn’t seem like the payoff will be too far away.
“Let’s get the second Major of the year rolling!”
