The LIV Golf League has signed two new players.

Sebastian Munoz of Colombia and Mito Pereira of Chile have signed on to play in the LIV Golf League, which starts later this month.

Before, both Munoz and Pereira were said to be possible LIV Golf signings. Now, the news is official, and the two will join Joaquin Niemann’s Torque GC along with David Puig from Spain.
It means that LIV is now home to Niemann, Pereira, and Munoz, the three best male golfers from South America in the world, as well as Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz, the best male golfers from Mexico in the world.

Hugo Costa, a journalist in Madrid, says that Puig, who was on Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs team last year, is only guaranteed to play in the first seven events of the 14-event league. Puig was on Garcia’s team last year.

Munoz is currently ranked 96th in the world. He won the 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship, which gave him his first PGA Tour title. Pereira is currently ranked 46th in the world. In his first year on the PGA Tour, he didn’t win, but he came so close at the PGA Championship when he made a double bogey on the 72nd hole.

Pereira is in the new Netflix documentary series Full Swing. His close call at the PGA Championship is a big part of Episode 7: Golf is Hard.

On Wednesday, four LIV Golf teams were confirmed. On Thursday, four more teams will be announced, and on Friday, four more teams will be announced. Both the champions 4 Aces and Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC, as well as Niemann’s new-look Torque team, will be making changes.

Dustin Johnson’s 4 Aces now has Peter Uihlein instead of Talor Gooch. This leaves Brooks Koepka’s Team Smash. Last year, Uihlein, who used to be the best amateur golfer in the world, came in third in the individual race. Branden Grace came in second, and his new captain Dustin Johnson came in first.

Matthew Wolff has left Phil Mickelson’s Hy Flyers and joined the Smash quartet with Brooks Koepka, Chase Koepka, and Jason Kokrak.

Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, and Lee Westwood will still be co-captains of Majesticks GC in 2023. Sam Horsfield will fill the fourth spot on the team.

The LIV Golf League will start on February 24 at the Mayakoba resort in Mexico.
