Ramos and Messi were rivals in La Liga, but they are now teammates at PSG. Ramos says Messi is the best player in the world.

WHAT TOOK PLACE?

Ramos played against Messi’s team, Barcelona, for almost a decade, when he was captain of Real Madrid and Messi was with Barcelona. But they met in Paris in 2021, and Ramos now says that the World Cup winner is the best player of all time.

HOW THEY SAID IT:

In an interview with PSG TV, Ramos talked about how good Messi is: “For several years, it was hard to play against Messi. I’m now having fun with him. He is the best football player that has ever lived.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE:

Ramos played with Cristiano Ronaldo for almost a decade when they were both on Real Madrid. They were Messi’s biggest rivals on the field. But now that he is on the other team, Ramos admits that Messi is better than his old rival.

WHAT NEXT FOR RAMOS?

At PSG, the center-back will continue to play with Messi. The Spanish international’s contract is up this summer, so it’s not clear what will happen to him.
