So far, Akshay Bhatia has done very well on the PGA Tour. He won his first tournament at the 2023 Barracuda Championship, while most golfers were fully focused on Royal Liverpool and The Open.
The thin left-handed player had a very special year in 2023 because that’s when he asked his girlfriend, Presleigh Schultz, to marry him.
A little more than two years after Bhatia asked Schultz to go on a date through Instagram, the two were seen together in the middle of a Napa Valley winery, with Schultz down on one knee and a ring in his other hand.
Before Bhatia got the nerve to talk to Schultz before the 2021 Valero Texas Open and after his first PGA Tour win, the California-born player hired his girlfriend to be his caddie, even though Schultz herself said she “knew nothing” about golf.
That being said, she must have known enough, or at least given Bhatia the faith and assurance he needed to win his first Korn Ferry Tour event at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic in January 2022.
It is thought that Schultz makes a living through endorsements and advertising. However, Schultz has since given the job of caddie to a more experienced professional. Ryan Jamison is now Bhatia’s looper.
Schultz is Bhatia’s biggest fan these days, even though she doesn’t caddie for the rising star anymore. She goes with her fiancé and walks every competitive round he plays.

After winning the Barracuda Championship last summer, Bhatia got upset when he talked about how meeting Presleigh has made him feel better.
Bichaya said, “She’s been there with me through everything.” When I met her, she had no idea what golf was. She now goes on trips with me once a week, which is hard because it’s always about me. It means a lot to me that she walks 72 holes with me every week. I can’t picture my life or this journey without her.
“She does a lot for me and makes my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every morning.” She has seen me cry and be very happy in the hotel room. When she sees me here, she always tells me how great I am, even though I sometimes doubt myself.
Even though Schultz and her fiancé have been in the news before, she is still a private person and not much is known about her. A little more than 81,000 people follow her on TikTok, and more than 25,000 people follow her on Instagram. As of today, she is almost the same age as Bhatia, who was born on January 31, 2002. Her birthday is February 13, 2002.
