Who has made it to the next round of the 2023–24 Champions League.
  • The group stage of the Champions League is almost over, and teams are now booking their spots in the round of 16.
  • Top teams in Europe, Real Madrid and Man City, are already through
  • Arsenal is almost there, but Newcastle needs a win on the last day of the season to make it.

The 2023–24 Champions League is almost over, and teams from all over Europe are trying to make it to the next round.

Teams from all eight groups fought hard to make it to the round of 16. Holders Manchester City and regular winners Real Madrid were sure to make it. Here, the right cash prizes start to stack up, which can give smaller sides a huge help with their money.

The top two teams in each group move on to the next round, while the third-place team goes to the Europa League. Those who won their group then play those who came in second.

Here are all the teams that have made it this far and how the groups look right now.

Group A:

Bayern Munich emerged victorious

Bayern Munich didn’t hold back as they whipped to 12 points in their first four games and clinched the top spot.

Harry Kane is back to his best in Europe. He only got one Champions League goal with Spurs in 2022–23, and Thomas Tuchel’s team will be hoping to go all the way to the finals.

Man United is in serious danger of being kicked out of the league and can’t afford to lose to Galatasaray. The Turkish team and Copenhagen are both one point ahead of the Red Devils.

B Group

Arsenal’s return to the Champions League has been mostly good, and a draw against Lens on Matchday 5 will be enough to send Mikel Arteta’s team through.

After that, the second playoff spot will be up for grabs. Both PSV Eindhoven and Sevilla are still in the running.

Group C

Real Madrid

Even though Real Madrid still needs to win their last two games to be sure of making it to the round of 16, they are already there.

Jude Bellingham of England has been great in Europe this season, as have Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo of Brazil.

Napoli hopes to join Real Madrid in the round of 16, but they may have to wait until the last set of games to be sure.

Group D

Between Real Sociedad and Inter

The teams behind Real Sociedad and Inter don’t have to worry about being caught by Salzburg or Benfica in Group D.

The first match between the two clubs in the group stage ended in a tie, and the outcome of the second match will determine who wins first.

Group E

Atletico Madrid and Lazio

This season, Atletico Madrid got back on track by securing their spot in the round of 16 with one game to spare. This comes after finishing fourth in their UCL group in 2022–23.

Lazio will join them after a late win over Celtic that kept them from being caught by Feyenoord.

The Borussia Dortmund

When the draw was made, Group F was called the “group of death,” and Borussia Dortmund is the first team to make it to the next round.

With a big day of games coming up in December, Paris Saint-Germain could be sent to the Europa League with Newcastle and AC Milan.

Manchester City – Winners

Manchester City and RB Leipzig were the first teams to make it to the round of 16. Both of them did so on November 7.

When City lost 2-0 to Leipzig on Matchday 5, they almost lost first place, but they quickly calmed down to confirm their standing as group winners.

RB Leipzig: Second place

In the Champions League so far this season, RB Leipzig has only lost once, and that was to Man City.

The German team was hard for either of the weak teams in the group to catch after beating Crvena Zvezda twice and Young Boys once more.

Both Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk have nine points, and their last game in the group stage is in Portugal.
