Three new golfers joined the LIV League through a qualifying event.

Kalle Samooja of Finland won the medal on Sunday at the LIV Golf Promotions event in Abu Dhabi. In 2024, he will be joined by Kieran Vincent of Zimbabwe and Jinichiro Kozuma of Japan in the LIV Golf League.

The qualifying event lasted three days and cut the field down to 20 players for the 36-hole event on Sunday. The top three players earned a spot in the 12-team league and were guaranteed more than $1 million in prize money.

In 2023, England’s Laurie Canter played in a few LIV Golf games as a reserve. She lost to Vincent and Kozuma in a playoff for the last two spots.

The top three finishers, along with those in fourth through tenth place, will get to go directly to the International Series, which is a higher level of events with at least ten events. The winner of the Order of Merit will also get a spot for the following season. That spot was won by Andy Ogletree, who used to be the U.S. Amateur champion. He will be on one of the LIV Golf teams next year.

Kevin Chappell and Martin Trainer, who have both won on the PGA Tour, are two people who can apply for an International Series spot.

Samooja won $200,000, Vincent won $125,000, and Kozuma won $125,000. With at least $120,000 in payouts at each of the 13 games, the three players are sure to make more than $1 million in 2024.

Samooja, 35, has been a professional golfer for more than ten years and won the Porsche European Open on the DP World Tour in 2022. Scott, Vincent’s brother, is already a member of LIV Golf. He has also won twice on the Japan Golf Tour.

Teams in the LIV Golf League that need players will be able to pick these players in a draft.
