PINKY PROMISE: In response to criticism following England’s “woke” row, players and legends have promised that Germany will wear a pink “diversity” shirt in Euro 2024.

The criticism has been called “nonsense” by a German legend.

The German football association and apparel maker Adidas are rumored to have stated that the uniform symbolizes the diversity of the German fan base and general populace. Germany is set to host the Euros this summer.

Alongside the debut of the new kit, Die Mansschaft even released a promotional video to refute any suggestions that the men’s squad shouldn’t wear the garish colors.

A voiceover in the video says, “That is not a shirt for legends.”

Thomas Muller, the star of Bayern Munich and Germany, barges in before he can add, “Well, let me ask one…”

Legendary World Cup winner Rudi Voller of the German national team supports him, saying, “Well I think it is.”

In the video, Florian Wirtz, a young player for Bayer Leverkusen, responds to the statement “That’s not a Germany shirt” by stating simply, “It is.” Other contemporary celebrities also support the color decision.

Although there have been some critics of the kit, the German national team has put up a united front in an attempt to address these concerns.

Uli Hoeness, the legendary Bayern Munich player and 1974 World Cup winner, has called the complaints about the shirt “nonsense”.

He stated to the German publication Bild, “These are all total nonsensical things! Their favorite thing to play with is their upper body completely nude with paint on it.These are insignificant matters. What occurs on the pitch is what matters. They’re wearing complete garbage, and you need to express it loud and clear.

The debate and the general outcry over Nike’s “playful update” to the St George’s Cross on England’s new home uniform coincide.

A tiny design feature placed to the back of the players’ collars represents the flag, which has several additional colors given to it by the design.

Many former England players have criticized the move, most notably Peter Shilton, who is the most-capped player for the Three Lions and called the multicolored flag “woke”.

“This is wrong on every level,” he declared. I strongly oppose it. Including the cost that Nike plans to impose.”It’s modern. Just use the proper colors if you’re going to use the St. George’s Cross on a uniform, like Nike has clearly done. It’s customary, much like the Three Lions.”

However, prominent politicians like Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Keir Starmer have also voiced opposition to the kit’s modifications.
