PGA Tour player Jordan Spieth has revealed that he is being “encouraged” to meet with the people who are funding LIV Golf. This comes as the PGA Tour and LIV Golf move towards what looks like a kind of alliance between the two leagues.
Last week, Jordan Spieth revealed that he and a few other top golfers were “urged” to meet with Yasir Al-Rumayyan and the people in charge of SA’s Public Investment Fund, which gives money to LIV Golf.
The golfer said to Golf Magic, “We are being encouraged to possibly meet with them at some point.”

“I don’t know what else I can say besides that we’re being encouraged to possibly meet with them. On the other hand, we probably feel that our membership should know when and what could happen, and just in general, maybe it’s just a meet.
I don’t know what else I can say about that, but we are being encouraged, which I think is probably a good thing that the whole board should do if there’s going to be any chance of a negotiation.”
It’s not clear what this meeting could be about, but since the PGA Tour and LIV Golf are moving towards a partnership under the PIF, it makes sense for the PIF to want to connect with some of the biggest names on the PGA Tour.
