Alexey Shved, who was born in Russia but used to play in the NBA, was attacked outside of a restaurant in Moscow on Monday night, according to TMZ Sports.

The basketball player, who was 34 years old, “suffered a serious head injury as a result of the fall” and was taken to the hospital. He was taken by paramedics to the hospital and is now on the way to getting better.

Shved used to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Houston Rockets, and the New York Knicks in the NBA. He is now a guard for the VTB United League team CSKA Moscow.

Shved posed for a picture with some of his friends and coaches who came to see him in the hospital. He was wearing a neck brace.

Shved called the cops, who are now looking into what happened. He won’t be able to play in the next round of games for his team.

Shved last played for the Knicks in the 2014–15 NBA season. In 16 games, he averaged 14.8 points per game. This season, he has averaged 17.0 points and 7.8 assists per game for CSKA Moscow.
