After being kicked off the women’s pro tour, transgender golfer Hailey Davidson says something.

Transgender golfer Hailey Davidson spoke out after the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour said on Friday that participants must be “a biological female at birth” to be eligible to participate in its events. This means that Davidson will not be able to compete in any future events.

In January, Davidson won the NXXT Women’s Classic. She talked about the new strategy in an Instagram Stories post.

“Effective immediately, I have been removed (banned) from the next 3 NXXT tournaments that I already signed up for and been approved to play,” he wrote.

But the tour got a lot of negative feedback, so it issued a statement explaining its policy at the time and Davidson’s candidature.

“The rules of the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour, especially those about gender, are the same as those of the LPGA and USGA.” This method is very important for keeping our partnership with the LPGA honest and making sure that the competition is fair and consistent. “When Hailey Davidson joined the tour, she followed these rules by providing the necessary paperwork, such as confirmation from the LPGA and USGA. This also made it easier for her to attend the 2022 Q-School,” the statement said.

The tour said it would ask players what they thought about the rule. After that, on Friday, NXXT GOLF CEO Stuart McKinnon said in a statement that competitors who were not “a biological female at birth” would no longer be able to play.

“As we navigate through the evolving landscape of sports, it is crucial to uphold the competitive integrity that is the cornerstone of women’s sports,” McKinnon stated.

“Our new policy shows that we are still dedicated to recognising and defending the accomplishments and chances of female athletes.” Protected categories are an important part of all levels of sports, and our Tour must support these categories for biological females to make sure everyone has a fair chance.

The NXXT Women’s Pro Tour wouldn’t say anything specific about what Davidson said.
