Caitlin Clark said the perfect thing about shooting from the logo to break the NCAA record for points scored.

Thursday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa star Caitlin Clark broke the NCAA’s all-time points record, becoming the most efficient scorer in women’s college basketball history. Plum, a Las Vegas Aces star who is from Washington, had held the record before Clark.

Clark broke the record with a three-pointer less than three minutes into the game, so the 14,998 people who were there didn’t have to wait long to see history.

Not just any three, though.

Clark’s signature move, a long triple from the logo, sealed the deal and set the record. After the game, Iowa beat Michigan 106–89, Clark talked to reporters and said the right thing about the game-changing three-pointer, which was shared by CBS Sports on X (formerly Twitter).

Clark laughed and said, “You all knew I was going to shoot a logo three for the record.”
What a great quote from Clark.

The Iowa star makes more three-pointers than anyone else in the country. Was there ever any question that he would not only break the record on a triple, but on an absurdly deep three-pointer?

Given how often she makes those kinds of shots, there shouldn’t have been.

When Clark walks into a basketball room, she’s ready to score, and she can now say that she’s done it better than any other player in the history of women’s college basketball.
