Barcelona negotiating to sign first Real Madrid player in 27 years.

Reports in Spain say that Barcelona is in talks with Real Madrid player Marco Asensio. This would be the first time in 27 years that Barcelona has signed a Real Madrid player.

The Catalans and Los Blancos have always been fierce rivals, so there haven’t been many transfers between the two clubs. Luis Figo’s famous move from Camp Nou to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2000 made a lot of news and showed how much the two Spanish giants hate each other.

Asensio, who is 27 years old, is thinking about what to do next because his contract is coming to an end. The player wants more money than Real Madrid is willing to give him, so he is likely to leave the Bernabeu. He has also joined forces with super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Mendes has close ties to Barcelona, and a Spanish newspaper called SPORT says that the two sides have talked about signing Asensio for free in the summer. That would make Asensio the first Real Madrid player to move to Camp Nou since Luis Enrique in 1996.

Asensio recently talked about what he plans to do next. He said he wants to stay in the Spanish capital, but he admitted that it’s not all up to him. He told Marca, “We’re talking about it, so we’ll see what happens.” I’m thinking about me and the next game. I hope that everything works out. I want to renew my visa and stay in Madrid for a long time, but that’s not just up to me. For me, sports and being happy are the most important things.”

This season, the Spanish international has played 21 games in all competitions for Carlo Ancelotti’s team and has scored three goals. Most of his appearances have been as a substitute, though, because he is still not the first choice. This is probably weighing on his mind.

Asensio hit a cool box in September because he was upset about having to fill in for someone else. Ancelotti felt sorry for his player and said: “I agree with him if he is angry. It’s normal, and it means you want to play and feel important. He has been the most hurt player on the team during this time, and I take that into account. I totally understand why he’s mad, because nothing changes.”

In the last year, Barcelona has done a lot to get new players. Xavi joined the team in the middle of last season, and he has already worked to improve it. For players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde, big moves have been made.

Even though there would be no transfer fee, getting Asensio would be another big win, especially given how many teams would be interested. Barcelona has a three-point lead over Real Madrid in the race for the La Liga championship.
