Walt Garrison, a running back and fullback for the Dallas Cowboys who was in the Pro Bowl, died earlier this month. He was 79 years old.
The running back for the Dallas Cowboys is said to have died in his sleep, a year before he would have turned 80.
Walt Garrison has died. As an Oklahoma State Cowboy, he led the Big 8 in running. He also won a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys and participated as a rodeo cowboy when he wasn’t playing football. “He was 79 years old,” NWA online said.
An NFL team blog post on Thursday said that Garrison had died the previous night. It didn’t say what killed the person.
Even more than his time as a player, Garrison is known for what he did after football. He was one of the best running backs in Cowboys history.
He was great as a college football player at Oklahoma State. He is fourth in Cowboys history with 4,32 yards per run and ninth with 3,491 rushing yards.
