Rapper Nashawn Breedlove, who was 46 years old and best known for a rap fight with Eminem in the 2002 movie “8 Mile,” has died.
In a post on Facebook on Tuesday, his mother, Patricia Breedlove, said that he had died.
“It breaks my heart to tell you that my beloved son, Nashawn Breedlove, has died. “Many of you knew him by his nickname, ‘Lotto, ox,’ which showed how tough and determined he was,” she wrote.
“Nashawn was an actress, a rapper, a singer, and a songwriter. “No one could deny his skill,” the post goes on.
Breedlove said that her son was a “remarkable man” and that his death “has left a huge hole in my life that words can’t fully describe.”
It’s not clear how Breedlove died, but other people in the music business paid respect to him after he passed away.
“Rest in peace to one of the few rappers who beat Eminem… The 8 Mile Lotto. Whose friends called him “OX,” wrote rapper Mickey Factz in an Instagram post. He was talking about the part in the movie where he battles Eminem’s character in a rap fight.
“Your tenacity and aggressiveness will be missed,” he said.
