When asked to choose between Lionel Messi of Argentina and Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal, Brighton player Kaoru Mitoma gave a surprising answer.
Mitoma recently took part in a fast-paced question-and-answer session where he was asked to settle the ultimate football argument about who is the better player: Messi or Ronaldo.
Mitoma couldn’t answer the question because he couldn’t decide between the two Ballon d’Or winners.
According to ESPN, the Japan player just said, “Both.”
Mitoma was bought by Brighton in the summer of 2021 for £2.6 million from the Japanese team Kawasaki Frontale.
In 41 games for Brighton in all categories last year, he scored 10 goals and set up 8 others.
He’s off to a good start for Brighton this season, with three assists and a goal in five games.
