Bryson DeChambeau says he will “play like a kid” to try to avoid losing in the final round of LIV Golf Korea for the second time.

Last week, the defending U.S. Open winner made headlines for giving an X-rated review of a LIV venue. He kept up his good play at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Incheon and now has a four-shot lead over Richard Bland going into Sunday’s final round. With a 66, the 31-year-old backed up his great first round of 65 with a 66, putting him at 13-under for the week.

Personal Approach“Just be a kid out there. Have a lot of fun. Go back to my roots. Just get it done.”

In the past few weeks, DeChambeau has frequently put himself in a position to win. He was in first place after 36 holes in LIV events in Miami and Mexico City. He also made it to the final group at The Masters last month, two shots behind Rory McIlroy, who won the tournament.

Those were all times when DeChambeau failed to do his job. That hasn’t stopped the two-time major winner, though, and he’s in a good position to end his losing start to the season on Sunday.

DeChambeau was inquired as to what actions he should take in order to secure victory. He stated, “It is simply to play golf as I have always done, have a lot of fun, be smart, execute the way you know how to, and solidify the motion, ensure that I am moving through it correctly, and continue to play the golf that I know how to play.”

DeChambeau hasn’t made a mistake yet in 36 holes at Incheon, but he was upset about missed chances to get ahead.

I was on the right track, but I wish I had made the putt on two and the birdie on three. I made a great birdie on six and got up and down on four.” “Five, I thought I made birdie,” he said.

“I’m just giving myself lots of chances. If I keep doing that, Sunday will be great.” So I need to enjoy myself and play like a child.

Bland, who is 52 years old, is the current winner of the U.S. Senior Open and the Senior PGA, but he knows that playing DeChambeau on Sunday will be very hard.

What did Bland say about DeChambeau’s length off the tee? “I heard he hit a 9-iron into the last, and that doesn’t make me feel good,” he laughed.

This place is perfect for him.” I guess you could say I’m a pretty good driver. It’s going to go somewhere I know. It seems like you couldn’t miss a green on four or five of these holes.

For him, he’s one of those people who can find that extra 10 mph in club head speed.” I’m not able to do that. I can’t just find 10 mph. He can make it look very, very easy in some places.

DeChambeau’s Crushers team is tied for second place going into the final round, six shots behind Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC. Talor Gooch and Jason Kokrak, who are both tied for third, have been leading the way for Smash GC so far with great play.
