One more change is being made at Augusta National before this year’s Masters.
Pink Dogwood is the name of the second hole, a par-5. The tee box is being moved 10 yards back and to the left. The new length for the hole will be 585 yards, which is the longest on the course.

A lot of golf writers talked about the change on social media after Augusta National gave the press their yearly media guide.

One of the holes that has changed the least over the last twenty years is the second one. Tom Fazio made some changes to the hole in 1999. He added a new back tee and moved the fairway bunker on the right to the far right.

At the famous club, it’s normal to make changes to the plan (sorry, bad pun). What seems like every year, Augusta National changes something about the course that Alister MacKenzie and Bobby Jones designed so that it is a better test for today’s pros.

The club just put in a new tee box on the par-5 13th hole last year. It made the hole 35 yards longer and the tee box 24 feet higher. The club also changed the layout of the par-3 course so that people could see it better.

“A primary goal of the renovation was to make for wider corridors for patrons to move around and to open the viewing options where multiple greens can be seen from one location,” the club stated.

Before the 2022 tournament, the 11th, 15th, and 18th holes got makeovers that made them look better.

The Augusta National Golf Club has a lot of history, but that doesn’t mean they’re afraid to make changes to the course. The most recent proof of this is the changes to No. 2.
