However, Fallon wasn’t interested in this year’s Masters because Woods broke the record for most straight cuts (24) that were made. As it turned out, it was a video of Tiger and a tree at Augusta National that got the late-night show excited.

But first, Fallon had a more important question about the Masters. He asked Tiger if he still got excited every year when he got to Augusta.

“Yes, I do, and I don’t see anything else like it.” Tiger added, “I’ve been playing there since I was a teenager, so there’s nothing like driving down Magnolia Lane and seeing that and just seeing the landscape and the history of it.”

To get to the heart of the issue, Fallon asked Woods about the picture of the tree that went viral on the internet after the Masters. In case you missed it, Tiger was seen shaking hands with someone who was hidden behind a tree during the final round. You could only see their wrist and hand.

“What was that? Do you remember?” Autumn asked the 15-time major winner.

“Sure, I do.” “That’s the great Verne Lundquist, and he was there,” Woods said with a smile, which made Fallon and the crowd laugh.

For decades, Lundquist helped call the Masters for CBS Golf. He stopped after the 2024 Masters. Since it was Woods’s last Masters, he saw him on the course during the final round and shook his hand to thank him for a great TV career.

Fallon went on, “It’s the best picture I’ve ever seen, I love this so much.” Fallon said, “It was all over the internet. I don’t know if you saw this.”

“No, I…what…what came about?” Tiger said with worry.

Fallon then showed Tiger some of the memes that were going around the internet after the Masters.

Fallon also told a story about riding in a golf cart with Tiger at a charity event in the past. He asked Tiger to show him a movie of his new daughter, who was born not long ago. While he was having trouble finding the video on his phone, Tiger showed Fallon a video of Charlie Woods as a baby making a perfect golf swing with a toy.

Tiger’s full visit on The Tonight Show can be seen below. It includes the story of his first hole-in-one when he was eight years old, a sneak peek at his Sun Day Red golf clothing line, and a lot more.
