Ronaldo scored two goals in Portugal’s 3-2 win over Slovakia on Friday, giving him 127 goals for his country. With 24 points, they are now in first place in Group J in qualifying.
Rober Martinez, the coach of Portugal, said, “This is the best way to get ready for the European Championship.”
“The game today showed us a lot about the players’ work, attitude, and dedication. It sent us a lot of important messages.” We’ve won eight games in a row, and beating Bosnia 5-0 should make us very happy. Portugal has some of the best players in the world, but what matters most is how they work together to reach a shared goal.
With the lead, Portugal slowed down in the second half.
Portugal is ahead in the group standings by eight points. Slovenia is in second place, four points ahead of Bosnia. Luxembourg is in third place, two points ahead of Bosnia.
