Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have said they are splitting up after 27 years of marriage.
“We’ve been lucky to be married for almost 30 years and have a great, loving relationship. “Our journey is changing, and we’ve decided to go our separate ways so we can each grow,” the two said in a statement that was first shared with People and then confirmed by CNN.
“Our family has always been and will always be the most important thing to us. We start this new part of our lives with thanks, love, and kindness,” they said. “We really appreciate your understanding as our family goes through this big change in all of our lives. Please respect our privacy.”
Jackman and Furness met on the set of the TV show “Corelli” in 1995. The next year, they got married. Oscar, who is 23, and Ava, who is 18, are their kids.
In April, Jackman gave Furness a gift to honour their most recent wedding anniversary.
Jackman said, “I love you so much,” in an Instagram post at the time. “Together, we’ve built a lovely family. and living. Your laughter, your energy, your kindness, your sense of humour, your cheekiness, your courage, and your loyalty are a great gift to me.
