Predictions for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2023
Predictions for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2023

Over the years, Jordan Spieth has done very well at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. In fact, Spieth won this event in 2017 and came in second place in 2022. This week, at the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which starts on Thursday, Feb. 2, on three courses in California, Spieth could be in the mix again.

The latest odds for the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am have Spieth as the 9-1 favourite. He has won 13 times on the PGA Tour. The next people on the PGA odds board after him are Viktor Hovland (10-1), Matt Fitzpatrick (10-1), Maverick McNealy (16-1), and Tom Hoge (17-1). Before making your picks for the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, be sure to check out SportsLine’s proven computer model’s golf predictions and projected leaderboard.

The SportsLine model, which was made by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been on fire since the PGA Tour started back up in June 2020. Since the start over, the model has won tournament after tournament with its best bets, making it over $8,600 richer.

McClure’s model said that Jon Rahm would win the Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express in 2023. The model also said that J.T. Poston had the best chance to win the John Deere Classic in 2022. That bet won at +5500, and McClure’s best bets in the whole tournament paid out almost $1,100. Before the weekend of the 2022 Masters, McClure’s model was all about Scottie Scheffler’s first major championship win, which would be Scheffler’s first.

Also, one of McClure’s best bets was on Collin Morikawa to win the 2021 Open Championship outright, even though he was a 40-1 long shot. The model was also all over Jon Rahm’s (10-1) win at the 2021 U.S. Open, which was his first major championship win. Before the weekend, Rahm was two strokes behind the leader, but the model still thought he would win.

This same model has also been right about a whopping eight majors as of Friday. Anyone who has done it has made a lot of money.

Now that the field for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2023 is set, SportsLine ran a 10,000-time simulation of the tournament. The results were surprising. Go to SportsLine right now to see who is expected to win.

Top AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am bets for 2023

At the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the model predicts that Hoge, the defending champion and one of the favourites at 17-1, will have a bad week and not even finish in the top five. In 2022, Hoge beat Spieth by two strokes to win his first and only PGA Tour tournament. He did so by making birdies on three of the last five holes.

But Hoge has been very inconsistent this season around the green. In fact, Hoge is 197th in strokes gained: around-the-green going into this week’s event (-.502). Also, after getting third place at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, he has finished T-32 or worse in his last two starts. He’s not a good bet to win it all, and there are much better values in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2023 field.

Another surprise is that 33-1 long shot Keith Mitchell is making a strong run for the title. Mitchell has a much better chance of winning the whole thing than his odds show, so anyone who wants to make a lot of money should go after him.

Mitchell is a long ball hitter who is 19th on the PGA Tour with an average of 311.3 yards per drive. Mitchell’s ability to drive the ball deep into the fairway has given him the freedom to use his short irons on approach shots. This season, the 31-year-deadly old’s combination has helped him hit over 70% of greens in regulation, which will help him at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week. Mitchell also finished tied for 12th at this event last year, which makes him a good value pick for the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Find out who else to choose here.

How to pick winners for the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The model also predicts that three other golfers with odds of 24-1 or higher will make surprising runs, including a huge longshot with odds of 48-1. Those who bet on these long shots could win a lot of money.
